Luxora South Africa

A Letter From Your Host

Dear Traveler,

South Africa is my home.

Born and bred, I grew up surrounded by different languages, cultures, people and ways of life all existing in the same environment. And perhaps because it was home, I didn’t always realize just how extraordinary it was.

It was only when I took my first international trip to Zanzibar that I got to understand the beauty of my country by discovering what was beautiful in other countries. Discovering how, even though we are separated by geography, language, culture and music, we are all the same in different variations — and I wanted to know them all.

It was only as I grew older and traveled more that I started discovering South Africa’s true beauty. I found places so beautiful it feels like you are walking into heaven; when you wake up in the morning the sun is in the room with you. Hidden corners, mountains, coastlines, little towns, animals and experiences that made me stop and think, how have I lived here all this time and never seen this?

I’ve seen undeniably beautiful places like Paris, Dubai and Italy, just to name a few, met wonderful people and experienced different cultures. And I loved those journeys.

But strangely, traveling away from South Africa made me see home differently.

It made me appreciate the warmth of our people. The way we welcome someone into a conversation. Our many languages and cultures. Our energy. Our diversity. And the beautiful youthfulness of a country that is still growing, changing and finding its way.

There is something about South Africa that I want the rest of the world to experience.

And that is how Luxora was conceived.

When you come to South Africa, I don’t want you to feel like another tourist passing through. I want you to feel like a guest in my home.

I want you to be able to arrive and breathe.

You shouldn’t have to spend your holiday worrying about directions, trying to work out what to book next, wondering whether you’re in the right place, or standing on the outside of a conversation because you don’t understand the language or the local way of doing things.

We’ll take care of that.

You focus on being here. On the people. The food. The views. The conversations. The laughter. The ocean. The silence.

And sometimes, I think we underestimate how much we need that.

Luxora is especially close to my heart for people who spend so much of their lives giving — business leaders, executives, entrepreneurs, creators, influencers, and particularly mothers who are constantly thinking, planning, building, creating and taking care of everyone else.

Sometimes you need someone else to take care of you.

You need permission to switch off for a while.

Because there are moments in South Africa that do something to you.

I sometimes joke that one drive along Chapman’s Peak, with the mountains on one side and the Atlantic Ocean opening up beside you, is worth ten therapy sessions.

That’s what I want Luxora to give you.

Not simply a trip to South Africa, but space.

Space to rest. Space to reconnect. Space to have fun. Space to remember yourself outside of your responsibilities.

And when it’s time to go home, I hope you return rested, clearer, lighter, and ready to make your next decisions with a fresh mind.

Luxora will take care of the journey around you. We’ll help you navigate locally, coordinate the details, connect you with the right experiences and introduce you to South Africa in a way that feels personal.

You don’t need to know everything before you arrive.

You’re coming to Mzansi. Let us host you.

Welcome to South Africa.
