Dear Traveler,

South Africa is my home.

I was born and raised here, surrounded by different languages, cultures, people and ways of life — all living together in one beautiful, complicated, colorful place.

But because it was home, I didn't always see how extraordinary it was.

It actually took leaving South Africa for me to begin seeing it properly.

My first international trip was to Zanzibar. I remember discovering a different culture, different music, different food and a different way of life. And somewhere in that experience, I realized something: we can live thousands of kilometers apart, speak different languages and grow up in completely different cultures, yet underneath it all, we are so much more alike than we think.

That made me want to see more of the world.

So I did.

I've traveled to beautiful places — Paris, Dubai and Italy among them. I've met wonderful people and experienced cultures very different from my own.

And strangely, the further I traveled, the more I discovered home.

I started looking at South Africa through different eyes.

I began discovering places in my own country that I didn't know existed. Mountains, coastlines, wildlife, little towns and hidden corners so beautiful that sometimes you wake up, the African sun fills your room, and you wonder, How have I lived here all this time and never seen this?

But South Africa isn't only beautiful because of what you can see.

It's our people.

It's our warmth. Our languages. Our music. Our food. Our humor. Our diversity. The way a conversation can start between complete strangers. The energy of a young country still growing, changing and finding its way.

I wanted other people to experience that South Africa.

And that's how Luxora was born.

When you come here, I don't want you to feel like another tourist passing through with an itinerary in your hand.

I joke that one drive along Chapman's Peak, with the mountain beside you and the Atlantic opening up below, is worth ten therapy sessions.

And yes, I'm joking.

But there's something behind that joke.

Sometimes you need beauty. Space. Fresh air. Laughter. A different view. A few days where somebody else has thought about the details.

Space to rest.

Space to reconnect.

Space to have fun.

Space to remember yourself outside of your responsibilities.

And when it's time to go home, I hope you leave South Africa lighter, clearer, rested — and perhaps seeing your own life a little differently.
